Five of Anglian Water’s reservoirs and water parks have retained their coveted Green Flag statuses as some of the best green spaces in the country.
Rutland Water (Leicestershire), Grafham Water (Cambridgeshire), Pitsford Water (Northamptonshire), Taverham Mill Water Park (Norfolk) and Alton Water (Suffolk) have been awarded the prestigious Green Flag Award from Keep Britain Tidy.
The awards are a sign to visitors that the parks are well-maintained and well-managed green spaces, with excellent facilities.
Green flags will be flown at car parks around the reservoirs for the next year to mark their status.
This year, 1,797 parks and green spaces across the country will fly the flags, ensuring that even more of us now have access to well-managed, high-quality green spaces close to our doorsteps.
International Green Flag Award scheme manager Paul Todd said: “We are delighted to be celebrating another record-breaking year for the Green Flag Award scheme.
“Each flag is a celebration of the thousands of staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to maintain the high standards demanded by the Green Flag Award. The success of the scheme, especially in these challenging times, demonstrates just how much parks matter to people.”
