This baby otter is a recovering after a drama at one of our water recycling centres recently. Our technician Steve Pearce arrived at Stonham Aspal works in Suffolk and heard a strange crying sound coming from an empty storm tank. He investigated and spotted the otter before getting help from other team members.

Colleague Richard Cope told us: “They safely entered the tank to rescue the trapped otter, by the time they had removed it from the tank it was very cold and weak. Everyone involved went out of their way to ensure that the otter was safely rescued, it was great teamwork.”

The team took the otter to the RSPCA centre at Martlesham where staff gave him fluid and pieces of trout to get his strength up. He’ll be staying at the centre until he’s fully well.
