I’m flying out tomorrow and preparations are in full swing, so I wanted to quickly do another update!
Whilst in Uganda I hope to be able to update you daily with Twitter and this blog, but this will be dependent on the internet connection! So in case I can’t update you as much as I’d like to when I’m out there I just wanted to share the itinerary:
Saturday 15 November
An early start, arriving at Heathrow for 8:15, where I will meet Caroline (the trip leader) and the others on the Supporters Trip. Our flight will leave about 11:30 and arrive in Entebbe at 22:40, where we will head to the hotel for the night.
Sunday 16 November
We will be heading to the north of the country to Soroti. We will leave after the morning briefing and this will be a whole day’s travelling!
Monday 17 November
This will be the first project visit day.
We will be in the Morugatuny sub-county where will see some of the project work that WaterAid has done in rural Uganda.
Tuesday 18 November
Second project day: We will be travelling from the hotel to the Acowa sub-county to see more of the fantastic work that WaterAid have done and meet the locals.
Wednesday 19 November – WORLD TOILET DAY!
This is a UN recognised day and a cause for celebration! The plans for World Toilet Day have been kept hush hush, but I can’t wait to see what they have planned for us…watch this space!
Thursday 20 November
We will be making the journey back down from Soroti to Kampala. If there is time we will stop off at the source of the Nile for lunch.
Friday 21 November
Project day three: we will be visiting the Bwaise slums in Kampala.
In the evening we will be meeting with local WaterAid staff.
Saturday 22 November
A chance to sit back and reflect for a few hours on what we have seen, and record our final filming with Tadg (WaterAid camera man).
Sunday 23 November
Arrive back at Heathrow at 07:00
